Job description: Dental Receptionist - The Opal Dental Co.
Position Summary:
Serves as the first point of contact for patients — manages scheduling, insurance verification, payments, and overall front office operations to keep the schedule full and the experience positive.
Previous Dental Office Experience is Required

Core Responsibilities
Patient Interaction
Greet patients warmly and check them in/out efficiently.
Answer phones, respond to voicemails, texts, and emails promptly.
Schedule and confirm appointments to keep the calendar productive.

Administrative Duties
Verify insurance benefits and enter patient data accurately.
Collect co-pays, process payments, and balance the daily ledger.
Prepare treatment plan estimates and explain coverage to patients.
Maintain organized patient files and ensure HIPAA compliance.
CommunicationCoordinate with dental assistants and hygienists to optimize schedule flow.
Call patients for recalls, follow-ups, and treatment reminders.Handle cancellations and reschedules to minimize gaps.

Office Support
Order front-desk supplies as needed.
Assist with marketing efforts (Google Reviews, recall cards, patient satisfaction follow-ups).
Occasionally assist with insurance claims or pre-authorizations.

Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years experience in dental, medical, or professional office setting.
Familiar with dental software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental).
Understanding of dental insurance terms (EOBs, co-pays, deductibles).
Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Pay Range $16–20/hr, depending on experience and insurance knowledge.

Dental Assistant (Part-time) - The Opal Dental Co.

Position Summary:
Supports the dentist during procedures, ensures smooth clinical operations, and maintains a clean, safe, and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Hours:
(approx. 25-32 hours per week) M, Tu, Th (Wednesday as needed)

Core Responsibilities
Chairside Assistance
Prepare patients for dental procedures (set up, review health history, comfort them).Assist dentist during exams, fillings, crowns, extractions, etc.Hand instruments, mix materials, manage suction, and take notes during treatment.

Patient Care
Take and develop dental X-rays (if certified).Instruct patients on post-op care, oral hygiene, and follow-up visits.Maintain a calm and professional presence with anxious patients.

Sterilization & Equipment Maintenance
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories.Prepare trays and rooms for each procedure.Monitor inventory of supplies and submit reorder requests.

Administrative Support
Enter treatment notes accurately in patient records (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental, etc.).Update patient health history forms.Occasionally assist with scheduling or insurance documentation if needed.

Compliance
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.Maintain certifications (CPR, X-ray permit, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
Dental Assistant certification (CODA or on-the-job experience).
X-ray certification for Wisconsin.
Minimum 1–2 years dental assisting experience preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and chairside techniques.Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.

Pay Range $20–25/hr, depending on experience and certification.
